Go beyond Apple's SuperDrive |
One of the things Apple had to do to make Macs thinner and smaller was removing the optical drive (CD/DVD-unit). Of course Apple sells an external SuperDrive for $79 to accomodate users that need it. At $79 you get a very limited unit. It's USB 2.0 only and can only read/burn CD's and DVD's. While this is enough for most you may want to consider getting more bang for your buck. For the same price you can have a USB 2.0 external CD/DVD and Blu-ray unit. It's the same size, can do everything a SuperDrive can and supports Blu-ray as well, reading and burning. This doesn't only give you the option to watch Blu-ray movies on your Mac but you can store data on Blu-ray discs of up to 100GB on a single disc! Spend s few more bucks and you can have an external Blu-ray unit with USB 2.0, 3.0, Firewire and eSATA so it can be used with a wide variety of Macs. It's a much better deal than Apple's outdated SuperDrive. Check out the parts vendors we have partnered up with as they might have some great deals on memory modules.
