OS X 10.10 YOSEMITE |
Released on October 16th, 2014, Yosemite was the first OS X version that dropped the cat name scheme and switched to a location based naming scheme. It also featured a complete redesign with a big focus on transparency and minimalistic UI as seen in iOS 7. Yosemite has seen the following updates: 10.10.1 - November 2014 10.10.2 - January 2015 10.10.3 - April 2015 All focussing on bug fixes, security patches and other improvements and enhancements. To install Yosemite, the following hardware is required: • iMac (Mid-2007 or newer) • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) • Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) • Xserve (Early 2009) Those Macs need at least the following: • OS X Mavericks, Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8, already installed • 2 GB or more of memory • 8 GB or more of available disk space |
