If your iPhone runs iOS 8 you can dial and answer phone calls from your Mac. For SMS to work with the iMessage application your phone needs iOS 8.1. Your iPhone can be anywhere in the house, as long as it's connected to the same network as your Mac, you can dial and answer calls as they come in. Your Mac will show you a notification with the caller's name, number and profile picture. Ending the call is done from the same notification window. As long as the iPhone meets the iOS requirements you can use these features on any Mac that runs OS X Yosemite. If your Mac does not have a built-in microphone, an external one needs to be connected. |
